Berry Yoghurt

Sweet and fragrant coffee with notes of forest fruits and chocolate. This coffee immediately captivates you with its intense sweet aroma. Expect flavors of blueberries, mulberries, high-percentage dark chocolate, or brownies. The coffee has high sweetness, medium acidity, full body, and a creamy texture reminiscent of fruit yogurt. As a filter coffee, it is a fragrant, sweet coffee with the acidity of ripe fruit. As an espresso, its intense sweetness, taste of dark chocolate, nougat, raspberries, and lime stand out.

This coffee from the Boku project is the product of farmer Esayase Beriso, whose farm is located in the Hambela Wamena district of the Oromia region. His farm is located at an altitude of 2,350 meters above sea level, and most of the harvest consists mainly of the local variety 74158.

Esayas began his career in the coffee industry while working in the government office in the city of Dimtu. At that time, he and his brothers collected coffee cherries for other farmers and sold them to processing stations. The business was successful, and in 2009, Esayas decided to plant his own coffee trees, leave the government office, and devote himself fully to his career as a farmer. Today, he and his wife Meskerem oversee the production of their own farm and also of purchasing cherries from neighboring farmers.

The lot we selected from the Boku project consists of variety 74158 processed using the dry method. After being hand-picked, the cherries were carefully sorted to remove unripe and overripe fruits and then transferred to raised beds for drying. Here, under constant supervision, they were turned and protected from direct sunlight and dried for 7-10 days before being moved to the final sorting and hulling stage.

This natural Ethiopian coffee is a beautiful representative of these iconic coffees, whose flavor profile has shaped the world of specialty coffee. Most of us fell in love with specialty coffee thanks to these coffees and their unmistakable flavor, which is why we can't wait for the next fresh harvest every year!
