Fresh berries, elderflower, and deep chocolate sweetness. Ethiopia Kayon Mountain brings a full flavor symphony straight from the famed Guji region directly into your cup.

Velvety filter & vibrant espresso

Thanks to its high sweetness and rich syrupy body, this coffee delivers an extraordinary experience across all brewing methods:

  • On Filter: Expect a fragrant, sweet cup filled with fresh strawberry, blueberry, and elderflower notes, finishing with a long dark chocolate aftertaste.

  • On Espresso: A brighter acidity emerges with notes of blood orange, stewed mandarins, and lemongrass, wrapped in a syrupy texture with a cocoa finish.

Kayon Mountain: A family farm with respect for land and community

This coffee takes us 510 kilometers south of Addis Ababa to the renowned Guji region, where Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family manage the Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm.

  • Community and Fair Wages: Ismael provides above-average wages to seasonal pickers and actively supports the community by funding local schools and administrative buildings.

  • Sustainable Agriculture: Coffee trees grow under the shade of native acacia trees in nutrient-rich red soil, fertilized naturally with farm-made compost.

Traditional natural processing & wild Heirloom varieties

The distinctive flavor profile stems from careful harvesting and meticulous sun-drying of native Ethiopian heirloom cultivars.

  1. Hand Selection: At harvest, cherries are carefully sorted for peak ripeness before processing.

  2. Slow Sun-Drying: Whole cherries dry on raised African beds for 8 to 25 days with continuous turning, bringing intense fruity sweetness to the bean.
