Kenya AA Blue Mountain is a coffee legend representing the best of African production. If you are looking for the definition of "juiciness," you have just found it. This coffee is intense, complex, and incredibly fresh. It is the ideal choice for lovers of high acidity and a tea-like body that does not lose its sweetness and fullness.

Harmony of currant and caramel on filter and espresso

Thanks to the omni roast style, both vibrant fruitiness and an unexpected depth of sweetness stand out in the cup:

  • On filter: A juicy and full-bodied coffee with distinct notes of currant and citrus. The aftertaste will delight you with the subtle bitterness of black tea and cocoa, giving the cup a clear structure.
  • On espresso: The acidity of gooseberry and green apple comes to the fore, complemented by a pleasant texture and the sweetness of salted caramel.

Dr. Wakefield and Josphat: A collaboration of coffee experts

This lot is the result of our collaboration with the London-based importer Dr. Wakefield, who has been among the leaders in the industry since 1970.

  • AA – Grade of highest quality: The AA designation refers to the highest size and quality grade of the bean. To earn this designation, a lot must meet strict criteria for size and a minimum number of defects, which directly translates into the clarity of flavor.
  • Proven blend of varieties: This is a blend of Bourbon, Kent, and SL28 varieties, prepared for Dr. Wakefield by their partner Kenyan exporter, Josphat.

"Washed and Soaked" Process: The key to an unmistakable flavor

Kenyan coffees owe their profile not only to traditional varieties but also to a specific processing method that highlights their unique character:

  1. Fermentation: After harvesting and pulping, the beans ferment in tanks until the mucilage loosens.
  2. Soaking: After washing, the clean beans are left to rest in fresh water for another 12–24 hours. This step ensures an extremely clean, sparkling acidity and a tea-like character.
  3. Result: The combination of traditional varieties and this two-phase processing creates a profile full of blackcurrant and freshness, typical of this region.
